Displaying a remarkable level of fortitude and resilience, Dog Soldiers star Sean Pertwee and his celebrity make-up artist wife. Jacqui Hamilton-Smith, put tragedy behind them and bravely stepped out into the sunshine to celebrate the homecoming of their new baby, Alfred.

Their son - who was named after Alfred the Great - is the surving twin born to the couple four months premature just before Christmas. Sadly his brother lost his battle for life last month after doctors tried against the odds to keep him alive but couldn't overcome the hand of nature.

Accompanied by close friends Jonny Lee Miller and his girlfriend, Lisa Faulkner, and the couples nanny (pictured left holding Alfred), the group looked relaxed as they- strolled to a park near their home in north London. After many months in hospital, Alfred was only recently

given the all-clear by doctors to be allowed home, as he was so unwell for so many months after his premature birth. In fact, tiny tubes could still be seen feeding in to Alfred's nose, evidence of his recent ordeal.

It is believed that Sean, the 38 year-old son of Jon Pertwee. the man who starred as Dr Who and Worzel Gummidge, was filming in Bulgaria when the surviving twin was allowed home, and he now hopes to spend as much time as he can with the child

Of the tragedy, Sean has said: 'We lost Gilbert but we had "Freddy", who is with us now. He is the most beautiful son called Alfred - Alfred the Great. We have only just got Freddy home now as he wasn't very well himself. Its just great to have him here. It is still very fresh and painful to talk about. ' A friend said: 'Like any first-time parents. Sean and Jacqui were thrilled when they were told they were expecting twins. The fact that they lost one is sad beyond belief.'
