MINNIE DRIVER is being supported in her music career by her fiance JOSH BROLIN's stepmother, BARBRA STREISAND.
The GOOD WILL HUNTING actress has also already performed in several Los Angeles, California, venues, and will release a song when she finds the right one to boost her to musical success.
She says, "I have started to do some live stuff here but I am in no hurry. I want the record that I release to be the one I love.
"Barbra has been very supportive - she is always supportive of anything I do. But in this area she is very formidable, very, very.
"She's never been to see anything I've done and I have to say I am incredibly intimidated by the thought of that."
Minnie says, "But she's being very sweet and kind about it all and enormously encouraging."
Sexy British star MINNIE DRIVER has laughed off reports that her stepmother-in-law-to-be BARBRA STREISAND will be calling all the shots at her wedding to JOSH BROLIN.
Tinseltown gossip is reporting that Barbra has already set a $750,000 (9/16540,000) budget for the wedding between her stepson Josh and the HIGH HEELS AND LOW LIVES actress.
However, Minnie insists she's making all the arrangements. "I am going to be in control - it's nonsense to suggest that I am not involved," she smiles.
"We [Josh and myself] are doing it together. I'm drawing pictures and making scrapbooks of different dresses that I love."
Minnie grins, "I'm accruing lists of wedding planners, flowers and dresses. So right now I'm in the information-gathering stage, figuring out where and how we are going to do it.
"It's not going to be for a while - we haven't set a date."
British actress MINNIE DRIVER is working on film ideas with her fiance JOSH BROLIN.
Amongst the ideas for the HIGH HEELS AND LOW LIFES star, is a short film inspired by a story her father used to tell her, and it is possible that it could end up as a feature-length movie.
She says, "I don't see why I can't move from a short film to a feature. I watched MATT DAMON and BEN AFFLECK do it with GOOD WILL HUNTING and they are just a couple of actors who wanted to create great work for themselves."
As for her work with Josh, she explains, "We are writing stuff together.
"I don't know how near we are to completion. It is definitely a great thing to keep creative and be thinking about what you reckon is a great story. It might mean that we get an idea and take it to a writer to turn it into a script."
The 31-year-old star is certainly joining an illustrious family. Josh's father JAMES BROLIN married superstar diva BARBARA STREISAND three years ago.
As for a writing career taking over her acting aspirations, Minnie doesn't envisage that in her future - just yet.
"I don't think I would ever preclude acting. Maybe later on but I'm not ready to do that yet."

She says, "I'm definitely a sapphire girl. Although I didn't know I was until I got it. It turns out, as my mum just told me, that sapphires were all my gran wore."
When asked if Josh knew of this fact, she answered, "God, no. It was a complete fluke."

The film is about two female gangsters in London with Minnie starring alongside her real-life pal MARY MCCORMACK, the American actress.
The GOOD WILL HUNTING star says of working with a close friend, "We had a really good time. Because we were the only girls, we were in charge."
McCormack adds, "It's great to work with a friend. We made each other laugh and got the giggles a lot, but we weren't realy naughty."
British beauty MINNIE DRIVER has decided the traditional white wedding is not for her when she marries actor JOSH BROLIN.
But the HIGH HEELS AND LOW LIVES star is hasn't yet told her step-mother-to-be BARBRA STREISAND her plans.
She says, "I won't be wearing a white dress so there won't even be any bother over who designs it.
"I don't know what Barbra would think, it is a bit early in the planning - I haven't even thought of asking her to sing."
